Their Story.

The Martinez’s were the original owners of their home located in the community of Eastlake in Chula Vista. When Eastlake was initially built in 1988, they were one of the first three families to move onto their street. All of their children were raised in this home and many precious memories were created here. With their youngest child now in his early 40’s, and all other children having relocated to North County of San Diego, the Martinez’s found themselves in their 70’s living alone in a huge property.

The thought of selling the property and moving closer to one of their children had started to pop into their conscience more often. Unexpectedly in 2017, Mr. Martinez was diagnosed with cancer. It was a battle he won, but that battle took a toll on him. This was the catalyst to decide that it was time to sell. After Mr. Martinez fully recovered, he and his wife relocated to Orange County to a Senior Living community near one of their eldest children.

The Martinez’s biggest fear was being physically absent and having to drive down to handle transaction activities. As a result, one of the top priorities for them was to have a local agent capable of quarterbacking the sale from listing through closing. This would include managing all details of the sale and any incidentals that arise during the process of selling. We were able to assure them we could perform all expectations remotely so they not have to make trips down to San Diego.

During the buyer’s due diligence period of the escrow process, a large leak was identified in the irrigation system, and required repair prior to closing. The repairs were more intrusive than anticipated, but our team was able to manage the contractors from start through completion, which eliminated any stress from the Martinez family.
